What Is Liposuction?

In Latin, the word Lipo means fat. The word Suction also means suction. Liposuction is called fat absorption in this framework. In Liposuction technique, there is a phenomenon that people know wrong. It is also the fat cell that is originally taken in this process, not the fat. Each individual increases the number of fat cells in the proportion in which they develop, until the end of puberty. Fat cell count automatically stops when puberty is over. The weight you gain after puberty causes fat cells to store more fat. In other words, the number of fat cells does not increase, there is an increase in the level of fat stored by fat cells. For example, starting to gain weight, the fat cells of an individual with the end of adolescence led to fat in the belly area when not actually in there, have risen the number of fat cells, the fat cells in the belly area capacity for expanding their fat intake, oil goes belly up automatically fills in the belly area. If Liposuction is performed, the number and density of fat cells in this area is reduced again. A person participating in Liposuction treatment should know that although they gain weight again after this treatment, the application area will never be the same as before. This is also an advantage of liposuction.

How Is Liposuction Performed?

There are more than one technique in the Liposuction process. Each of them is effective and nowadays more ultrasonic Liposuction or laser Liposuction is preferred. In these methods, both the patient’s recovery time is shorter, he spends the recovery phase more comfortably and is much more aesthetically effective. The wet technique is the most common. The options available in Liposuction and techniques will be sorted by your doctor, and the advantages and disadvantages of each technique will be reported. In this article, we will briefly describe how Liposuction treatment is performed using the wet technique. Wet technique, i.e. tumescent technique, surgical cuts ranging from 2 to 6 mm are thrown into the area to be used. From these incisions, cannulas are settled in a thin structure. In wet technique, liquid is filled into fat cells and thus easy removal of fat cells by swelling. This is also performed through cannulas inserted through surgical incisions to remove swollen fat cells. The swelling fat cells are absorbed through the vacuum section of the device via cannulas.

In ultrasonic Liposuction, i.e. Vaser Liposuction, ultrasonic vibrations are sent to facilitate the softening and removal of fat cells. Laser Liposuction uses cannulas with sizes of 2 – 3 mm in diameter. In laser application, fat cells are targeted to turn from solid to liquid by addressing laser beams. Oils that also become liquid are absorbed through cannulas. The biggest advantage of laser liposuction is that surgical cuts do not exceed 2 – 3 mm and as a result, there is no surgical scar. Local or general anesthetics are used depending on the area and size of the Liposuction procedure. If the application area is large, the pain can continue for 3 to 4 days.

TYPES OF LIPOSUCTION

  1. Tumescent liposuction

The most popular method of liposuction in which a considerable volume of medicinal solution is injected into the areas before the fat is removed.

  1. Super-wet technique

It is similar to tumescent liposuction, but in this method the amount of the fluid injected is equal to the amount of fat to be removed. Furthermore this technique takes less time but often requires sedation or general anesthesia.

  1. Ultrasound-assisted liposuction (UAL)

The method in which doctors employ ultrasonic vibrations to dissolve fat cells in order to sweep them out.

  1. Laser-assisted liposuction (LAL)

Laser energy is used to liquefy fat cells and the liquefied cells can then be sucked out or drained through tiny tubes. Furthermore, the laser’s energy encourages collagen production, which helps to reduce skin droop after liposuction, which may be an advantage of LAL over traditional liposuction methods.

Liposuction Risks

The risks of Liposuction are minimal. Rare problems that could potentially occur with any surgical procedure include infections, decaying, skin ulcers and nerve injury. The swelling technique minimizes these risks. As always, even the smallest surgical procedure involves risk. For this reason, Liposuction, which is a fat removal process, can also involve some risks due to the nature of the job. First, it is worth noting that Liposuction is just a method of fat removal. So it is definitely not a weight loss tool like sports activity or diet. Liposuction is not applied to patients over 60 years of age.

People who are addicted to smoking are also not a very preferred group of patients for the operation. In the process of sucking fat, there is no harm to the individual unless excess fat is removed from the body. But after this procedure, those who adopt an unhealthy eating pattern or use this method as a short-term slimming tool instead of getting rid of regional fat cells experience disappointment and damage because they cannot achieve the result they expect in the long term.

Recovery Process After Surgery

You have a corset that you need to wear for 6 weeks, and starting from the first week of surgery, we do medical massages according to your condition, the healing process varies according to each patient (weight, fat ratio, area of the procedure). The healing process takes an average of 1 month, but after 10-15 days you can return to your normal life.

Vaser liposuction surgery, which is also not limited to an area, is a treatment method that is often used for regional lubrication, even for facial contour correction. Both women and men can benefit from this operation in this process. Because it is made under the skin, of course, problems such as bruising or edema can occur. It is normal for them to occur during the healing process. It is important to remember that the regular use of corsets in this process accelerates the healing process very quickly.

It is quite normal for edema to occur after liposuction surgery. As mentioned above, this process is defined by physicians as the healing process. It also allows you to get rid of problems such as edema within 1 Week if you use a corset in a way that does not bore or force you.

There are also reasons for focusing so much on the corset. Encouraging the use of corsets after vaser liposuction surgery; helps prevent the enlargement of the edema that occurs. In the same way, it allows you to see a healing process that is better and the living conditions are good.
