What Is Arm Leg Lifting?
How Is Arm Leg Lifting Performed?
The operation takes an average of 2 hours, and a less-lasting operation may be sufficient depending on the condition of the arm and leg. Before surgery, the patient is given both sedation-effective and anesthesia-effective cocktail drugs. As part of the operation, the groin line is based. Starting from this area, all excess fat directed towards the leg is taken using liposuction techniques. The only reason why the point on which the operation is based is determined as the inguinal line is that the cuts that will be opened during the operation and the surgical scar caused by the closure of the incision remain on the inguinal line, that is, do not appear. The surgical scars will remain quite light and the entrance and intervention stages are made from this line so as not to disturb the individuals.
Recovery Process After Surgery
The full recovery process will take about 2-3 weeks. But after this time, you should definitely consult a doctor to do heavy lifting or heavy exercises. A shower can be taken 2 days after surgery.
After arm lift surgery, there is a thin line that runs from the inside of your elbow to the armpit. This is your sewing line. We give patients a corset to protect your suture line and to ensure that the skin sticks to the underlying tissues. The patient uses this corset day and night for three weeks, and then during the day. So there is about 6 weeks of corset use.
We don’t put stitches in the patient that can be removed anyway. Either we use skin adhesives, which we call tissue adhesives, or we use a number of stitches that will melt on their own. So with little dressings, the patient comes to check up once a week with dressings. After 6 weeks, she/he can continue her/his normal daily life, sports life.
Surgery stitches can be removed within 10-15 days. For hanging the leg, some deep sutures are placed from the inside; therefore, these areas are slightly painful for a few days. These inner sutures melt late. After surgery, the legs are completely bandaged.
Plastic pipes that collect blood and other fluids called drains are placed in the inner part of the legs inside the surgery site. Drains are withdrawn in 2-7 days and sometimes more in the post-operative period. After surgery, blood thinners are started, and on the first day after surgery, the patient is raised and executed.
