Implant Treatment

What Is Implant Treatment?

Implant treatment; due to dental deficiencies in the mouth, smile aesthetics and chewing functions are performed to restore, natural tooth appearance and function of the qualities closest to the artificial teeth are worn. Implants are usually made from materials where titanium and titanium components are heavily used.

There are many factors in choosing titanium. The most important of these is that titanium does not damage the immune system and is durable, like natural teeth.

Implant treatment can be applied to cavities caused by previous tooth loss, as well as to replace the tooth that has been removed as a result of various infections. In order for implant treatment placed in tooth sockets to be performed, it is essential that the patient has sufficient jawbone density. If the patient to be implanted does not have sufficient jawbone density, the appropriate treatment is applied to ensure jawbone density before the implant. There is not always a need to wait for the implant to be inserted. Implants can also be applied immediately after tooth extraction in healthy patients.

How Is Implant Treatment Performed?

Before Implant treatment, the patient is given a detailed examination and radiological tests and X-rays are taken. The total duration of the examination performed together with the analysis and X-rays is 30 minutes. After that, patients who are suitable for implant treatment are given sedation-effective drugs so that they do not suffer during the procedure. With the necessary examinations of the jawbone, the measure of the remaining intact teeth is also taken. Dental implant treatment is performed by two different methods. These are single-stage and double-stage dental implant treatments. In the treatment of a single-stage dental implant, implants are placed in place, and then temporary teeth are inserted to provide a temporary functional and dental appearance. In two-stage dental implant treatment, the implant is closed with the gum immediately after the placement process and the patient is discharged to heal the implant area. The corresponding prosthetic teeth are then placed in the healing implant area.

In the treatment of both dental Implants, temporary bridges are placed. Where temporary bridges are placed, the lower jaw has a healing phase of 3 months and the upper jaw has a healing phase of 6 months. In some cases, newly made teeth can be immediately attached to the implants. In this way, the patient can maintain the functions of laughing and chewing. Zirconium implants are a new generation of implants manufactured using titanium and developed to increase resistance values. It is used to support endurance levels, especially when the jawbone is narrow. The only difference from titanium implants is that they are more durable. Zirconium is preferred in dental veneer treatments as well as implant treatment. Zirconium is very effective in providing whiteness closest to the natural tooth tone. In addition to providing durability, it is also a useful option for providing an aesthetic dental image. Zirconium does not wear and does not leave a metal taste when placed in the mouth. In addition, there are no color changes in the following years depending on time and do not damage the immune system.
